Thank Goodness Congress Is Getting Roger Clemens Off The Streets!
I’m sure you have have heard or read by now that Roger Clemens is being being charged by congress for perjury or lying during his testimony to congress, about is own personal performance enhancing drug use. I for one never understood why congress was investigating drug use in baseball to begin with. I guess the financial meltdown, 2 wars, Bernie Madoff, terrorist attacks, people losing their homes, bailing out big business, were not important enough and now congress is in the drug enforcement business. Yes that is your tax dollars at work. If congress is looking to bust some drug users I can find them plenty of them in Phoenix. Why are they hassling tax paying citizens, who contribute to society and pay millions in taxes. You now why because it was easy and it makes them look like they are doing something for the people. I personally could care less if Roger Clemens took steroids or HGH. I don’t care if congress takes steroids, it is their choice and they shouldn’t be wasting millions of our tax dollars on trying to bust a drug user. Take that time and money and set up financial assistance to those who are getting evicted the the big banks that used our tax dollars to stay open. I do not know all the details of what Clemens said he did or did not do, but if he wants to take a performance enhancing drug that is his choice. Did congress investigate cocaine use in baseball, pain medication is baseball? No, do you know why they didn’t? Because no one would care. I personally would rather congress work on getting the dope dealing punks that I have to drive by on my way to work, who pay no income tax, carry weapons, and commit crimes, off the street rather than hassle a few possible drug users that contribute to society. I know, “steroids are cheating” so what, people cheat all the time. Ask the Patriots. Why do you think coaches cover their mouthes when calling out plays. Do you think its because the think that the opposing team is reading their lips? They know they are because they are doing it themselves. College teams hit with sanctions for cheating, helping players get passing grades, recruiting violations, there are many forms of cheating in sports but where is congress to investigate those issues. Professional sports are a joke to me anyway so maybe I’m jaded in my opinion. Think of it, grown men playing a sports for millions of dollars while boys are being blown up with road side bombs for a few thousand dollars. I will ask you this question. Do you think any professional athlete would not play their sports if they were making half of what they make now? I quarantee you they would, because very few of them would be making millions doing what they studied in college. Congess should leave drugs in sports to the DEA and get back to work trying to get Americans jobs!
