How to Stay on a Diet

No one ever said that staying fit and thin is simple. In fact, your weight may be the hardest thing to control. You must tame your own natural urges to consume high calorie foods, and you have to focus your diet on vegetables, fruits, and lean meats. With so many individuals failing to remain on a dietary plan, we want to help you stay on track with some simple tips and suggestions. Whether you want to stay healthy or lose weight, we are here to help you learn how to stay on a diet.

  1. Your doctor is going to be your best friend during this period of dieting. Their medical opinion can help ensure that you remain on a balanced, nutritious diet. If you request it, they will plan out a diet plan that includes the needed nutrients to get to the weight you want, while keeping your personal health in mind.
  2. Keep a list of what foods you consume. Mark down the calorie content of each item.
  3. Never guess on the amount of portions in your food. Use exact measurements.
  4. Drink at least eight glasses of water per day. This will keep your stomach full and your body hydrated. Avoid drinking canned or frozen juices – they are often extremely high in carbohydrates.
  5. Before you eat breakfast, eat a small portion of fresh fruit or vegetables. This will get your metabolic system working even before you eat your first large meal of the day.
  6. To avoid snacking, set designated times for you to eat a formal meal. You will retrain your brain to consume large portions at set intervals throughout the day – it is classic conditioning at its best.
  7. If you ever find yourself sitting for a prolonged period of time, do something with your hands, like knitting, crocheting, or drawing. This will at least keep some part of your body active.
  8. Give yourself one day per week to cheat away from your diet. This prevents your body from falling into a stagnant metabolic routine.
  9. When your body has become stabilized to its new found diet, utilize a dietary aide, or a diet pill, to maximize your chances of remaining diligent to your weight loss.

As a parting note, never put your trust in popularized diets. There is a reason they are heavily marketed and often cost you loads of money to join – they are in it for the money. Stick with your doctor’s advice and you will be fine.

Do you have a Body Building Plan?

There are countless supplement companies out there trying to snatch people up under their advertisements and unmitigated claims. This is nothing something you want to fall prey to. Instead, you should be using your head and planning out how to get yourself the better body you want. If you are ready to take the first step into the world of fitness, or you are looking for a way to improve on your physique, here are three simple steps for you:

  • Diet

Before you even start to exercise, or even think about exercising, you need to focus on your diet. No pill, or pills, can replace the conventional foods you have come to enjoy throughout your life, but you need to learn how to manage them. Obviously, you should not be downing ice cream and soda for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You need the nutrients that will get you the results you want. To do this, you should plan out your meals ahead of time, even if it is only a couple days in advance. This will help you maintain focus on the overarching goal: your health and your body.

  • Exercise

To build muscle and burn fat, you need to move around and do stuff. This could be running, lifting weights, cleaning the house, shoveling snow, or raking leaves, all it has to do is get your muscles working. The more you move around and perform repetitive motions, the harder it becomes for your muscles to actually perform those movements. This is how muscle growth is encouraged: you move a muscle until it becomes tired, but you continue anyway, forcing it to push beyond its usual state. Now you have induced some muscular activity that may promote muscle growth.

  • Supplements

Only when you have managed a healthy balance of diet and exercise should you move into the realm of supplements. You must create the internal environment capable of utilizing the nutrients and ingredients in the supplements to actually see the results that you want. Plus, the supplements are designed to ‘supplement’ your workout abilities, not hand you the results you want on a golden platter. When you want to get some serious muscular growth going on, grab some supplements and continue maintaining a healthy routine of diet and exercise. Your body will be one step closer to the perfection you dream about.

Today I will be looking at an interesting combination of products from the good people over at ALR Industries. When used in conjunction it seems that the two seem to have an equalizing effect. Presenting: Poison & Comatose.

The first product is called Poison. The name may be intimidating but the results may be well worth the scare. Poison is a brand new dynamic diet pill touted to “Kill The Fat”
I like the idea of killing the fat because I have some areas that I certainly wouldn’t mind having whacked! So, what is this Fat Assassin all about? With a 12-hour half-life design and the greatest possible positive physiological impact of any legal analogs of PEA, Poison has a patent pending R-N-Benzyl-alpha-phenylethylamine HCL-ME and R-beta-methylphenylethylamine HCL-ME should be considered the ultimate clean stimulant, positive mood enhancer, thermogenic and serious appetite suppressant.

Benefits Of Poison

  • Clean Stimulant
    Mood Enhancer
    Thermogenic
  • Appetite Suppresant

If you are tired of EVERY diet and fat burning supplement on the market today containing Ephedra then Poison might be the way to go for you. ALR states that Proper use results in an almost immediate increase in performance, superior mood elevation with intense focus, favorable serotonin and dopamine modulation support.

So, you’ve taken the POISON. Where is the cure? ALRI’s cure for Poison is called Comatose. The word comatose makes me want to fall asleep right here in my chair.
After the 12 hour energy rush that you get from Poison you may need something to calm you down so you can have restful, productive sleep. This is where Comatose comes in.
Comatose is designed to be the ultimate relaxation aide made in mind for those who are worried about the possibility of getting hooked on traditional sleeping pills. Comatose is meant to be used as a night time product. It is used to take the edge off a stressful day and allow the user peaceful sleep while recovering from a grueling workout

    Benefits Of Comatose

  • A Calm Relaxation
    Sleep Aid
    Non-Addictive
  • If you are looking for the ultimate fat loss and relaxation combo then you may want to try Comatose and Poison by ALR. Workout hard all day then relax your way to recovery. Sounds like a win, win to me!

Thank Goodness Congress Is Getting Roger Clemens Off The Streets!

I’m sure you have have heard or read by now that Roger Clemens is being being charged by congress for perjury or lying during his testimony to congress, about is own personal performance enhancing drug use. I for one never understood why congress was investigating drug use in baseball to begin with. I guess the financial meltdown, 2 wars, Bernie Madoff, terrorist attacks, people losing their homes, bailing out big business, were not important enough and now congress is in the drug enforcement business. Yes that is your tax dollars at work. If congress is looking to bust some drug users I can find them plenty of them in Phoenix. Why are they hassling tax paying citizens, who contribute to society and pay millions in taxes. You now why because it was easy and it makes them look like they are doing something for the people. I personally could care less if Roger Clemens took steroids or HGH. I don’t care if congress takes steroids, it is their choice and they shouldn’t be wasting millions of our tax dollars on trying to bust a drug user. Take that time and money and set up financial assistance to those who are getting evicted the the big banks that used our tax dollars to stay open. I do not know all the details of what Clemens said he did or did not do, but if he wants to take a performance enhancing drug that is his choice. Did congress investigate cocaine use in baseball, pain medication is baseball? No, do you know why they didn’t? Because no one would care. I personally would rather congress work on getting the dope dealing punks that I have to drive by on my way to work, who pay no income tax, carry weapons, and commit crimes, off the street rather than hassle a few possible drug users that contribute to society. I know, “steroids are cheating” so what, people cheat all the time. Ask the Patriots. Why do you think coaches cover their mouthes when calling out plays. Do you think its because the think that the opposing team is reading their lips? They know they are because they are doing it themselves. College teams hit with sanctions for cheating, helping players get passing grades, recruiting violations, there are many forms of cheating in sports but where is congress to investigate those issues. Professional sports are a joke to me anyway so maybe I’m jaded in my opinion. Think of it, grown men playing a sports for millions of dollars while boys are being blown up with road side bombs for a few thousand dollars. I will ask you this question. Do you think any professional athlete would not play their sports if they were making half of what they make now? I quarantee you they would, because very few of them would be making millions doing what they studied in college. Congess should leave drugs in sports to the DEA and get back to work trying to get Americans jobs!

A diet supplement is a good friend that helps you along with your weight loss goals. It helps act as your conscience during the times when you are considering cheating on your carefully laid out diet plan. Also like a good friend a diet supplement will provide you with the motivation you need to get your butt in the gym. A diet supplement will also promote well being and elevate your mood. Doesn’t this sounds like the qualities you are looking for a in a good friend?

    Creatine Supplements Help with Fatigue

Creatine Found to Help with Fatigue
This is nothing that anyone who has used creatine in the past 15 years doesn’t already know, but it always nice to see scientic data to back it up. The study shows creatine intake as useful in fighting fatigue.

Creatine is a naturally occurring compound synthesized from the amino acids arginine, glycine, and methionine. It is found in meat and fish and can be synthesized by humans in the liver and pancreas. Creatine’s ability to increase strength by helping maintain levels of the body’s energy unit (called ATP) has resulted in as much as 75% of athletes having reported using creatine to help both athletic performance and recovery.  As a body builder I have know this for over 15 years.

Research has found the health benefits of creatine to extend from lung health to muscle health. Now a new study has found that creatine may help with fatigue even in the absence of weight gain.

In the study, 20 healthy men and women with an average age of 21 years were given either creatine (30 mg per kg of bodyweight = ~2.3 grams per day across all of the patients) or placebo for 6 weeks. During this time, they were weighed and had their body fat tested. They also provided blood samples and performed strength tests to measure for both maximal strength and muscle fatigue. The maximal strength test consisted of a 3-repetition maximal knee extension test, while muscle fatigue was measured with 5 sets of 30 knee extensions.

The researchers found that while there were no significant differences between the 2 groups in body mass, fat-free mass, fat mass, body fat percentage, total body water, or maximal strength at the end of the study, those in the creatine group demonstrated greater resistance to fatigue. Specifically, compared with the fatigue tests before the study, those in the creatine group had more patients who were more resistant to fatigue (thereby performing more repetitions. Those in the placebo group had “no improvement” in fatigue resistance . When they looked at blood levels of creatine, those in the creatine group had a 182% increase while no increase was seen in the placebo group.

So how would this equate to more muscle, well being able to resist fatigue longer will allow one to train harder, longer, faster. This is in turn does more muscle damage and that in turn allows for  muscle fiber repair, which in turn results in larger muscles.

For the researchers, “Ingesting a low dose (~2.3 grams/day) of creatine for 6 weeks significantly increased [blood levels of creatine] and enhanced resistance to fatigue during repeated bouts of high-intensity contractions.” When it comes to creatine dosing, there are currently two different approaches. In the first method, a ‘‘loading’’ dose of creatine, usually about 20 to 25 g/d (300 mg per kg of bodyweight per day), for 5 t o 7 days is ingested followed by the 30 mg/kg/day. In the second method, there is no “loading phase” but instead just the lower doses of creatine, usually about 2 to 5 grams per day.

    Ephedra

My 25 year love affair with Ephedra. Ephedra is know by several different names. MaHuang, Chinese Ephedra and epitonin, and also ephedrine. However ephedrine is actually made from ephedra. Ephedra is a natural herb and has been used by me for 25 years.

I started using ephedra for bodybuilding in my early 20’s. It was very effective in reducing my body fat, giving me energy for those long grueling workouts that make bodybuilders what they are, and for controlling my appetite during the 8 weeks of dieting before a bodybuilding show. I also found that ephedrine was a great nootropic. In college I would take it wake up for a 8am class and found that my cognitive skills were far greater than when I did not use the ephedrine. Sadly ephedrine has almost been erased from the US but there is one version still available and it is Proefed.

Now that I’m in my middle forties I have still found a great need for ephedra in my live. As a middleaged man I have found it much more difficult to keep my mid-section at a level of bodyfat that I like. Well guess what, ephedra to the rescue. Ephedra is still available in the leaf form and comes in several products like ThinQuik, Hydroxytrol, High Octane Ephedra, and a few other brand name diet pills.

In short I really don’t ever see myself not needing some weight control, appetite suppression, or just the occassional energy boost, so my relationship with ephedra will most likely continue into the twillight of my life. As I look around at the people I see when traveling, I can’t help but think how ephedra could help many of these people with the quality of their lives. Overweight, latargic people, who cold really benefit from losing weight, bossting their energy and just a general better feeling about themselves. Thank goodness the FDA is trying to put a stop to this 5000 year old natural wonder product, and keeping cigarettes and liquor legal. We all know the tremedous health benifits of those 2 drugs.

World CLass Nutrition wants to keep supplements users aware of how the government is trying to take away your freedoms. Over the last week or two, a joint House-Senate conference committee has been considering ways to reconcile two competing federal Wall Street reform bills and turn them into a single bill that both chambers can support. The US House’s Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009 (HR.4173) and the US Senate’s Restoring American Financial Stability Act of 2010 (S.3217) differed in cost and content, most notably for us in that the Senate version did not give the broad new regulatory powers to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that the House version would. By removing limits on its power that are enshrined in current laws, the FTC could impose harsh new requirements on all businesses, even those completely unrelated to Wall Street, banking, or the financial sector; including dietary supplement manufacturers.

How do we expect that the FTC would act if given such new power? The agency has indicated that it wants to impose stricter standards on any advertising of dietary supplements. Past consent decrees that settled disputes with supplement companies have required strong disclaimers and much more evidence to support any future promotional claims. Consumer advocate organizations have urged the agency to require that multiple clinical trails be done on any advertised product, not just on its ingredients, to support advertising claims. However, such trials take many months, are very expensive, and are not required by current law allowing claims to be based on the body of science backing the active ingredients in a product. If the FTC and anti-business consumer advocates have their way, label claims and advertising will be far more restricted than is presently allowed. Of course, ads already have to be truthful and not misleading, so that’s not really an issue. But the FTC still wants more power so it can unilaterally impose a new regulatory scheme that bypasses today’s requirements for hearings, public comments, and due process before it can change the rules that we operate under.

Now the good news: despite strong efforts by certain committee members, the FTC provision has reportedly been stripped from the joint committee’s version of the bill. In other words, WE WON THIS BATTLE! For those of you who spoke up for our rights, thank you. But this was only one battle and industry critics have not given up on their crusade to over-regulate vitamins and other safe dietary supplements. It is still important to be ready for the next attempt to have the federal government take over the dietary supplement industry, as has been done in other countries where there are far fewer choices for consumers. .

Be prepared to tell your Senators and Representative in Congress that you want to continue to have access to safe dietary supplements and honest marketing claims without excessive government restrictions. Public action may be needed on short notice to head off tricky legislative maneuvering. Go to http://www.csofh.org/ to sign up for action alerts and learn how to Take Action! Protect your rights to have access to vitamins and stop the gov from taking control of everything you do.

Good news today from Washington DC, Federal Judge Rules the FDA Cannot Silence Accurate Scientific Information About The Health Benefits of  Vitamin Supplements. This is a victory for dietary supplements and for free speech. In another huge defeat for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA),  a federal judge in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled unconstitutional the FDA’s censorship of selenium dietary supplement health claims. The Alliance for Natural Health USA (ANH-USA), along with dietary supplement formulators Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw, and the Coalition to End FDA and FTC Censorship, represented by Jonathan Emord of Emord & Associates, were successful in protecting the First Amendment right of dietary supplement manufacturers to provide “qualified health claims” which accurately communicate the state of science in relation to the dietary supplement.

This is a remarkable seventh victory over the FDA by the Emord firm (six of which invalidated FDA health claim censorship). The federal judge denied the government’s motion to dismiss the case and granted the plaintiffs’ motion for summary judgment. All principal parts of the decision were clear victories for the ANH-USA and its fellow plaintiffs. This suit was the latest in a series of actions filed against the FDA for its illegal bans on qualified health claims. Qualified health claims are used when there is significant but not absolutely conclusive evidence for a relationship between a food, food component, or dietary supplement and reduced risk of a disease or health-related condition.

The lawsuit was in response to the FDA’s June 19, 2009 decision to suppress selenium/cancer-risk reduction claims. Ten of those claims (all appealed by the plaintiffs) were held unconstitutionally censored. The plaintiffs expressed their belief that this violated their right to communicate truthful health information to the public. The judge found that the FDA had denied claims despite credible evidence supporting them and had thereby infringed on free speech. “The ability to share information with the public about the benefits of health foods and food supplements is essential in order to advance the cause of healthy living and disease prevention. Consumers want to make healthy dietary and lifestyle changes, but have been denied accurate health information.

This ruling will allow producers of natural products to provide accurate health information, based on valid science, to consumers without burdensome overregulation by the FDA,” said Gretchen DuBeau, executive and legal director of ANH-USA. Prior to this ruling the FDA required near conclusive scientific evidence for any nutrient claim. The judge ruled that so long as the claim is an accurate reflection of the state of science, the First Amendment protects it. During these proceedings, the FDA never explained why it believes the censorship of valid science to be in the best interest of the American people or why such censorship would help Americans make better health choices.

FDA Warning For Natural Wellness that MasXtreme contains aildenafil

    posted by Al

Natural Wellness and FDA notified consumers that MasXtreme, a product sold as a dietary supplement contains aildenafil close in structure to sildenafil and is expected to possess a similar pharmacological and adverse event profile as well as the drug phentolamine which is an alpha-adrenergic blocker. This may pose a threat to consumers because aildenafil may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs (such as nitroglycerin) and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. Consumers with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often take nitrates. Common side effects of phentolamine include arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythm) and tachycardia (rapid heart beat).

MasXtreme is sold in blister packs containing one (1) capsule. The product is distributed nationwide by Natural Wellness Inc. Consumers who have purchased MasXtreme capsules are urged to immediately discontinue their use.
